ARCHINFORM BUREAU WON SECOND PRIZE IN THE COMPETITION FOR THE BEST CONCEPT OF EXPO PARK IN YEKATERINBURG

We believe that the exhibition heritage should contribute to the fundamental education for our children, including exploring the world, learning environmental friendliness and studying modern innovative technologies that could change our reality and nurture new generations of citizens in Yekaterinburg and in Russia with a new system of values. An innovative park should become the key feature of the exhibition heritage, uniting science, modern technologies, natural science, environmental friendliness and humane attitude to people.

The theme of the international exhibition is as follows: 'Changing the World: Innovations and Better Life for Future Generations'. We have materialized this motto in our project concept. A land plot of 500 ha has been assigned in the Verkh-Isetskyi district of Yekaterinburg for the EXPO Park (an exhibition zone), EXPO Village and EXPO City (a residential zone).

Apart from that, the heritage complex will include a museum of science and technology, a research centre for young scholars, laboratories, an educational centre, a year-round innovative attractions park for children and adults to get acquainted with modern technologies, smoothly transitioning into a natural landscaping recreational zone along the Verkh-Isetksyi Pond waterfront.

The residential zone reserved for EXPO will be transformed into a new city district when the exhibition is over. The development complies with the latest urbanistic principles in terms of a sustainable urban development model. This is a regular structure of quarters with high horizontal density and high density of road network. All this provides economic efficiency for the area development and continuity of the urban fabric, at the same time promoting the optimization of social and public infrastructure.
