An unusual architectural planning concept was developed for the design area located in the western part of Yekaterinburg, on Verkh-Isetsktyi pond waterfront. The solution involves picturesque shaping of the development front directly facing the water zone. As opposed to blocks with closed perimeters, for this development it was decided to open the living zone towards the water as much as possible and to shape a wide, comfortable public city esplanade, creating visual permeability of the development. Thus, the planning solution combines residential high-rises standing closer to the water with the frontage formed by sections of U-shaped housing blocks along Tatishcheva street, which provides privacy of the inner yard spaces. Such compositional solution also allows for the maximum number of residential units to look out on the city pond waterfront.
