The new zoo is a unique project on a regional scale, designed to be vizited not only by the residents but also by the city guests.
A wide range of species in the zoo's collection includes fauna from all continents, and each species requires specific conditions similar to its natural habitat, which is an especially difficult task due to our regional natural and climatic conditions. The zoo's exposition is formed according to the zoogeographic principle, including animals from Russia, Asia, Southern and Northern America, Africa and Australia. Multifunctionality is also an important feature of the new zoo.
When shaping the concept of the zoo, we paid close attention to immersing the visitors into the atmosphere of live nature and various landscape zones corresponding with the habitat features of various species. All the artificial structures and facilities are integrated into the landscape as much as possible by creating an artificial relief, planting and decorating with natural materials. A river with a complex, picturesque bed flows throughout the zoo area. For certain species, it serves as a natural barrier, separating them from the visitors; for others it is a crucial habitat element. Also, through the use of water and shaping of an active artificial relief, natural living conditions for the animals are modelled, and numerous scenarios of visual perception of the area development's landscaping are formed for the visitors. Thus, '300 PARK' is not only a new, modern zoo in the region, but also a unique natural and landscaping recreational complex for the residents of Novokoltzovskyi district and Yekaterinburg as a whole.
